There's No Place Like Om was started in 2002, right here in Santa Cruz, CA. After my mother was diagnosed with cancer in 1996. I saw how sad and depressed she became being poked, prodded, measured and studied as a specimen over the years, as opposed to a human being with feelings. I knew right then I needed to find a better way to support her quality of life, and thus my career as a massage therapist and Ayurvedic practitioner began.

I started my massage training in 2001, with a local acupucturist, Phil Caylor. After completing an 18 month intership with Phil, I had learned a form of structural integrity massage known as the St. John's Method. I also learned anatomy, postural analysis, trigger point therapy, Gua Sha, moxibustion, nutritional muscle testing and advanced reflexology during my education there. I am obtained so many hours of study and practical application that I am qualified to teach all the modalities listed above!
From there, I moved onto Twin Lakes School of the Healing Arts (2003), where I studied traditional Swedish Massage I & II, aromatherapy, Barnes method myofascial release, ethics and a course called "The Voices of Chi," which was about balancing excesses and deficiencies in the 12 major meridians in the body.

During this time of learning, I was fortunate enough to be introduced, by a dear friend, to a wonderful Ayurvedic practitioner named Jaisri Lambert. I had recently discovered Ayurveda and was drawn to its sense of inclusivity. I was blessed to work with Jaisri one on one for many years learning the many modalities involved in Ayurveda such as abhyanga, swedana, netra basti, pulse and tongue diagnosis, turiya and panchakarma. Jaisri specializes in neurological disorders and fertility issues. It was a magnificent experience and a priceless contribution to my education. I am still in contact with Jaisri and work with her from time to time to this day! (2004-current)

I have also taken several courses through Center IMT of of Connecticut. They have a very unique approach to working with connective tissue. One of the more effective techinques I learned from them is call "sacral scraping" and their method of using pelvic blocks to help correct postural anomolies.
I offer many wonderful, healing modalities to the community at a reasonable rate. Massage is a great way to help relieve stress, manage pain and boost your immune system,as massage helps remove toxins from the body by aiding the lymphatic system. Massage can also help with certian postural patterns, plus it can help reduce the appearance of cellulite and break down scar tissue! Offerings include, but not exclusive to the following: Ayurvedic sessions, Pre/Post Natal Massage, Deep Tissue, Gua Sha, Reflexology, Trigger Point Therapy, Aromatherapy, Swedish Massage, Traeger therapy and more!
A holistic way to improving your health.
